The core mission of the Foster Care Society is to pioneer and model standards of practise for foster care organisations striving to assist foster children and their parents across India. In January 2017, the society was registered as a non-governmental organisation (NGO) in Rajasthan, Udaipur. The Foster Care Society’s priority is to relocate children from institutions like the Child Care Institute to loving and caring families. We believe that every child needs a nuclear family to love and support them. Our number of families has more than quadrupled to 28 in Udaipur and 6 in the other neighbouring districts.
The mission of the Foster Care Society is not solely to facilitate the relocation away from outmoded institutions but also to provide individualised and community-based services to keep more families together. To that end, we initiated our Family Support Centre, “Parivar Sayhog Kendra,” on 1st May 2018, in order to empower families so as to prevent family separation.
